George Nita is an ST6 General and Transplant Surgery Trainee in Merseyside, currently an Out of Programme Research Fellow with the Liverpool University Hospitals Renal Transplant Unit and a doctoral candidate in Bioinformatics and Transplant Immunology at the University of Liverpool.

His research, funded by Kidney Research North West, focuses on novel biomarkers of allograft rejection and the detection and monitoring of antibodies in renal transplant recipients. George was also a Travelling Fellow in the Department of Transplantation Surgery at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, where he expanded his professional collaborations.

As a Training Representative within Herrick Society, George is dedicated to promoting transplantation as a specialty and enhancing postgraduate education in transplant surgery. In his spare time, George enjoys spending time with his two sons, playing the guitar, and training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
