Ruth is currently a Senior Clinical Fellow in Hepatobiliary and Liver Transplant Surgery at St James’s University Hospital, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, UK. She completed her CCT in General and Gastrointestinal Surgery in Barcelona, Spain and she is PhD student at Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona.

She is passionate about surgical and collaborative research since she was a medical student. She is part of the Educational Committee at ESSO, junior editor of “Cirugía Española” journal of Elsevier and part of the senior advisory group for EuroSurg Collaborative.

She is currently training in liver transplantation at St James’s Hospital which has also been a great opportunity to be exposed to machine perfusion, living liver transplants and pediatric transplants.

As a representative of social media for Herrick Society she will aim to help develop further projects and share them among the new generations of transplant surgeons in the UK.
